Week 40: Round two

I’m really bad with house plants. I forget to give them water regularly, and even at the end of the season, I forget to clean out the pot. Sometimes that’s a good thing. Apparently.
These hyacinth bulbs from last spring started coming up again all by themselves, after a whole autum/winter season of being forgotten in the window sill :-)

Week 37: Oil colour

This week, the Lidl was selling canvases in all sizes as well as oil paint and aquarel paint, and all very cheap compared to what I remember it cost when I was a teenager. So I decided to introduce the kids to the good old practice of painting pictures. Naturally, they immediately started, and occupied the table with paint, brushes, palettes (old plates) and their work. They even bought extra canvases from their pocket money, oh, and also stained the towels in the bathroom. All while I still have an empty white canvas sitting on the corner of my desk, waiting for when I have time! And of course for when I figure out what to paint.

Week 34: Xmas tube

On our way to my sister’s for Christmas dinner.
I had to rotate the image for straightness, but then noticed the background was set to red, and liked how that looked with the red hat in contrast with the blue sky and coat. So I left it like that, instead of cutting the corners to get just the photo.
