I gave this post a Dutch title, as I’m not aware of an English translation for this typically Dutch treat. They’re like very small little cookies (about 2cm wide), and officially they belong to the Dutch Saint Nicholas fest, which is a celebration of St Nicholas’ birthday, on the 5th of December. Each year they’re being sold earlier than the previous year though, just like Christmas stuff. (I often wonder how long it will take before Christmas sales will start directly after Easter)
