I’ve spent ‘some time’ today trying to install different Operating Systems on a computer, first Windows 7 RC (which failed to connect to the internet and killed my dualboot with Ubuntu), then Windows 98 (following this plan!), but I couldn’t complete the installation due to a “lack of memory” (yeah right, Windows 98 on 300GB disk with 2GB RAM), so then went on with XP (same plan still), which installed correctly, but didn’t wanna play nice with my network adapter and monitor resolution, so.. on to Ubuntu, which of course has zero problems, detects XP on the disk, goes online without me having to tell it where to find the internet, and tells me there are updates ready.
So, basically, I should have taken a pic of the installation disk of today’s winner, Ubuntu. But it’s a downloaded version, burned to a cheap ugly nameless disc, and the Windows XP disc is just so much more colourful in the right light…
