Hi Jessica, to illustrate the setup, here’s the original photo. That is, the underexposed version so you can see the curtain (by its pattern):
The tulips are in a vase on a table in front of a south-west facing window, which is covered by a cream coloured roll-down curtain. You can see my son’s Lego on the window sill.
The camera was on a tripod on the table, with the tulips directly between the camera and the window. Camera settings (for the correctly exposed photo): ISO-50, F/8, 2 seconds, focus length 6 mm. It was 2.36pm, so if it weren’t for the curtain, I’d have been shooting against the sun.
