Today’s photo wasn’t taken to be aesthetically pleasing, but instead to document something:
Gabriël’s class is doing a school garden project, and today it was time to harvest potatoes, beans, and.. courgette. I’ve never seen courgettes this size before though. The ones I buy in the shop aren’t even a quarter of this size. I put a tape measure next to it. It’s about 40 cm, or 16 inches long!

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009This is a sculpture called “Light of the Moon” by Igor Mitoraj, on the same grass as in yesterday’s photo, in Scheveningen. It is part of the extensive collection of Theo and Lida Scholten, who started up the museum “Beelden aan Zee” (Sculptures at Sea).
The sculpture is black, but I played a bit with the color levels and contrast. Photo taken last Sunday.
